Manitoba, Canada - please support by signing this petition regardless of where you reside...

Post by Debbie_Hepplewhite »

Please support parents and educators in Manitoba, Canada, to be 'trailblazers' in Canada for widescale reform to ensure all children are taught with evidence-informed reading instruction including systematic synthetic phonics.

Regardless of where you reside, please support our Canadian friends in their aspirations for change. It takes seconds to sign via these online petitions. We must support one another wherever English is taught as it has the most complex alphabetic code in the world and science has shown us the need to teach it explicitly - and for all teachers to be trained in evidence-informed reading instruction:

Last call- deadline May 30 2019

We have formed a coalition of educators and parents to raise our voices to submit a brief to our provincial K12 education commission. We have one of the lowest literacy achievement rates in the Canadian provinces. The education commission was formed to review and analyze our system in the hopes to improve it for our students.

Our coalition is advocating for recognition and instructing dyslexia and using SSP in our schools.

The commission is looking for bold and innovative submissions. We are therefore looking for a broad outreach as we are hoping to get a large number of responses so that we can show the national and international support for this petition.

If you could please kindly sign and then share far and wide. We would hope that Manitoba might become a trailblazer in Canada.
