Kerry Hempenstall & Jennifer Buckingham CIS report - one of most viewed in Australia in 2016

Post by Debbie_Hepplewhite »

Congratulations to Dr Kerry Hempenstall and Dr Jennifer Buckingham. Their CIS report is in the top ten of most read reports in Australia in 2016. Let's hope this is making a difference to lead towards a properly research-informed teaching community:

This report outlines the research on learning to read from the 1960s to 2015 and explains how having effective, evidence-based reading instruction in every classroom can substantially improve...
Kerry and Jennifer are members of IFERI's Advisory Group. You can read about their wider work here:

The IFERI site benefits enormously from the wealth of information provided by Kerry and Jennifer. Whilst their activities are based in Australia, and focusing in particular in raising teacher-knowledge and changes in the prevailing mixed methods in schools in Australia, their work nevertheless has worldwide implications.
