What are High Impact Teaching Strategies?

High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) is a document published by the Department of Education and Training, Melbourne in June 2017. It details the top ten evidence-based teaching strategies (based on their effect sizes).

This is exciting news for EBP Education and for teachers across the state of Victoria. It is a clear acknowledgement that the research-practice gap exists and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development are providing clear guidance to close the gap. It's a great start that we at EBP Education hope will continue to be developed further.

When implemented with fidelity, the HITS are teaching strategies that directly improve student outcomes. The HITS constitute the top ten most effective instructional practices. They are as follows;
