In England's context, there is a gulf in the perspective of various educators regarding early years education and how the needs of the pre-five child are best serviced.

Blogger 'Quirky Teacher' writes from a different viewpoint to the majority of early years advisors and although this is not a thread about research as such, it is an important thread as it exemplifies the diverse views to early years provision.

Quirky Teacher has written many posts on a similar theme - basically direct teaching and structure versus a learning through play approach.
