James and Dianne Murphy's posts: 'Thinking/Reading'

Post by Debbie_Hepplewhite »

There are some great, evidence-informed, highly referenced posts available to read via the 'Horatio Speaks' blog and the 'Thinking/Reading' site of James and Dianne Murphy, see here:
Does phonics help or hinder comprehension?

James and Dianne work with secondary-aged pupils who, quite frankly, have been let down by previous teaching (or lack of the teaching required) more often than not - so they speak with great authority and personal experience based on both the New Zealand and UK context.

James and Dianne also make a great contribution to the debate via Twitter so do 'follow' them!
