Parents and teachers need to take heed, it is a comforting feel good factor to talk about 'learning through play' but what are the full implications of this as the basis for educational settings?

No one is averse to playing, we all do it one way or another (not just the children), but there are some whom we need to question regarding their views on explicit teaching and the accompanying practice and 'hard work' that this may necessitate. They are seemingly quite averse.
