The work of Professor Diane McGuinness has made a huge contribution to the movement of 'understanding' about why teaching has failed so many children, and how best to make changes for teaching children how to read. Historically, Diane was enormously supportive of the UK Reading Reform Foundation through the years of challenging the multi-cueing word-guessing 'searchlight' strategies encapsulated by a National Literacy Strategy for several years at the turn of the century.
